Re Education progress report and software backups

The hat is back to working on Re Education and is planning for the next version to feature an alternate scenario where the helmet is used, as well as continuing the "True Hypnosis" path. The next version is planned for late January.

However right now the hat wants to broach a rather mundane, but very important topic: Backups.

This time of year, between Christmas and New Years is when the hat likes to get all of its ducks in a row as far as software backups are concerned. The hat employs disk cloning software to backup the contents of its SSD to a second SSD, which is then stored in a fireproof safe. Incremental backups of Re Education are also made to a memory card.

The hat takes data backup very seriously.

Until now, the hat was using Acronis True Image for full disk backups. However... it's never been very quick at backing up... And in this day and age, taking 3 hours to back up a 1 Terabyte SSD is something that Lemonhat would call "UNACCEPTABLE!!!"

So the hat decided to see if there was a new version of Acronis True Image available, because it came with the hat's SSD and it's worked fine, so might as well stick with what works and hey maybe a new version has better SSD support.

Well, the hat found out that Acronis changed the name of the software, added useless bloat, and made the software subscription only.

This was when the hat told Mr. Acronis to go pound salt.

The hat is not paying a subscription fee for any software, especially disk backup software! Especially not when free alternatives such as Clonezilla exist! Paying for a license is reasonable. Charging for a subscription is a dick move.

So after uninstalling Acronis. the hat queried Mr. Search engine and set off on a quest to find a replacement. It found AOMEI Backupper. Its free version does everything the hat needs.

The hat doesn't typically shill products or make recommendations, but from everything the hat found, AOMEI Backupper is made by people who are not jerks.

It also works a lot faster than Acronis did.

So with the backup solution in place, the hat is resuming its work on Re Education. Expect the next version to have some new CG's, including some kinky content...
